About Shelley:

Shelley Dickerson is a 26 year employee of
the Canadian County Clerk’s office. Her personal
and professional experience makes Dickerson uniquely qualified to serve as County Clerk.
Shelley believes that Productivity, Efficiency and Accountability are key to being an outstanding County Clerk.

“My goal is to lead by the management philosophy of continuous improvement. That simply means that things may be good, but we must always strive to make them better. In government that means to proactively seek to increase our productivity, efficiency and accountability.”

PRODUCTIVITY
To increase productivity and the service we provide to our citizens, we must be aware of the changing demographics of our county. Canadian County is a unique combination of a metropolitan/rural county. It is inevitable that technology will shape how we provide services to citizens, but we must remain accessible to those citizens who desire more traditional service while increasing our accessibility to the growing electronic generation.

EFFICIENCY
To be efficient you must anticipate a need and plan to meet that need while you are best able to control the change and the cost of resources. We chose to implement direct deposit for our payroll before it was required. That allowed us to be proactive, rather than reactive.

ACCOUNTABILITY
Increasing accountability has become an important issue in all levels of government. The trust that our citizens place in an elected official is of the utmost importance. Good stewardship of the County Clerk’s budget in both financial and human resources requires constant diligence

“If elected, I will be sincerely honored to serve
as the next Canadian County Clerk.”
